The Treasurer's Office collects and distributes all Real Estate, Personal Property and Auto Registration Taxes.
Auto Registration is a Department of the State of Nebraska that is operated by the Treasurer Office.
Real Estate taxes are due annually. The first half becomes delinquent May 1st and the second half becomes delinquent September 1st. The annual tax sale is held the 1st Monday in March. All delinquent taxes are advertised in the paper the month of February prior to the sale.
Taxes offered during the Public Tax Sale but remain unsold, will continuously be available for purchase throughout the year. All costs and fees are the same with the exception of the registration fee.

New residents of Nebraska must license their motor vehicles and get a new drivers license / State ID within 30 days of moving into the state. You may renew up to 90 days prior to the expiration date on your drivers license / State ID.

Dakota County has made an agreement with MIPS Inc. to make Tax information and payment available Online.

- Minimum Credit Card charge is $2.00
